SHUMENSKO BEER: THE BOMB

The Little Bomb (translit.: Bombichkata) is Bulgarian beer brand Shumensko’s most iconic line extension. Launched back in the sixties, it was the most popular refreshment in the socialist era. And now it lives a second life.

Celebrating the little hero

Marking The Bomb’s 50th anniversary, Shumensko beer decided to bring back its unforgettable taste to the shelves. And you know, every “bringing back” means “digging into the past“. So, we created a platform for the “new” line extension, heavily inspired by the forms, colors, textures and typography used in the 60s and 70s.

Each visual is crafted to bring a romantic feeling about the past, depicting different graphic styles. Illustration, and often typography, is hand-crafted, carefully textured and brightly colored. The shape of the iconic bottle is always at the center of the art piece.

Bringing back the urban tales

Since its creation, curious stories have been told about The Little Bomb. Just like every city has its own weird, wacky or straight up absurd urban tale. To celebrate the legendary Bombichka, we recreated some of the most exciting town stories on to the beers’ labels.

Closing the generation gap

In 2025 The Little Bomb set out to prove that generations may differ, but a simple ‘Cheers’ always does wonders in uniting them. All of this in its established manner of illustration.

Design excellence

Bulgarians are especially sensitive when it comes to their past. Design can either deny it or adopt and revive it. We did the latter. Now The Little Bomb has a solid platform it builds on every year and is one of the few beers out there advertised solely through illustrations. This approach made it one of Shumensko’s best sold beers.
